#1 - Solid Stories
Cinderella, Spiderman, and this ad. What do they have in common? A gripping story! Stories will always sell. You just have to tell a good one! And this ad, tells a good one! Currently, there are 4 variations of the ad running.
Why does the ad work?
The ad tells a typical transformational story, of a consumer with a similar problem as the reader, who already tried the product
Though briefly, it follows a simple framework, B-A-B, meaning, Before, After, Bridge.
Before - Same problem the reader currently has.
After - Where the reader aspire to be, their desire, the result they want.
Bridge - Sold the click as the solution to their problem, the key to getting their desire.
Using a man dressed like a doctor as the narrator is social proof. It gives weight and authority to the ad.
The ad uses ultra specific and power words to increase believability. e.g “German researchers”, “170 worth of scientific data”, “Discovered”, “728%” etc
One thing that stood out the most about this ad is the unique mechanism! It is new, curiosity driven and never heard of before.
Think about it, “The Rice Hack”. You mean using rice to lose weight? Interesting!
Use of testimonials of other customers adds more proof and towards the end of the ad, the narrator created a common enemy, urgency and FOMO - Fear of missing out in the reader!
I wouldn’t outrightly copy the ad but it has a structure worth modeling.
#2 - Reviews
At first glance, it looks like a normal bland ad. Right? Wait a minute…
Why does it work?
Reviews will always work because they prove the product works. But there’s something distinctive about this ad. The tiniest details!
The use of the line “Available at Walmart” tells the reader the product is within their reach and easily available. They just need to check the nearest Walmart!
“Sold out 3x Amazon” is a 5-star padded social proof! People love best sellers! They simply think, "If it's sold out, it works!”
Use of appealing visuals, and colors.

Daily News for Curious Minds
“I stopped watching the news, so sick of the bias. Was searching for an alternative that would just tell me WHAT happened, with NO editorializing. I found it. It’s called 1440. It assumes you are smart enough to form your own opinions.”
