3 High Performing DTC Facebook ads
And why they perform like crazy
Today, I’ll show you some of the top ads I’ve seen out there in the wild and we’ll break down why the perform well (based on the engagement)

#1 - Question
Why does this ad work?
The hook starts with a need that qualifies the audience for the problem.
It then ends with a question “what should I do”? It opens the loop and makes people want to watch the entire video hoping for the psychological payoff.
And when people watch, listen or read about anything that can solve their problem, they buy.
Of course, this is a big company, so I’d be careful of copying their entire ad/funnel etc. But the hook of this ad does a lot of heavy lifting here.
#2 - Lazy worker
Why does this ad work?
Most living organisms are here to survive and procreate.
Surviving and procreating are dependent on energy levels.
So most organisms are trying to get the most while expanding the least amount of energy.
This ad is perfect because the setting can be relatable to most remote workers or people who work 2 days/week remotely.
And because the fundamental benefit is a lot of value for small energy consumption, this ad exploded.
And I am sure it works decently well (but what kind of crowd it attracts? - that’s a separate question)
Funny, if you see this ad on Meta and read the comments, you’ll see a lot of people making angry comments. And I think they are driven by the innate need for fairness and some by envy on a subconscious level.
So happy swiping!
#3 - Product demo
This ad is an extremely well-done footage of a product review.
And the best part, you can easily compare it to a giant table in the same video.
So it’s a review and comparison(contrast) in the same video which is phenomenal.
